Jordan Ohanesian, Psy.D. Post-Doctoral Resident in Clinical Psychology

Dr. Jordan Ohanesian holds a Doctor of Psychology and Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the George Washington University, an APA accredited program. She also earned a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from the George Washington University. Dr. Ohanesian graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.

Dr. Ohanesian completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Saint Elizabeths Hospital in Washington, DC. Additionally, she has worked within a variety of clinical settings to include community mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, and forensic clinics with individuals of varying ages and stages of development.

Dr. Ohanesian understands that each person’s experience and background is unique and aims to provide a collaborative space where clients feel understood, supported, and gently challenged as they embark on their own personal journeys. She works with adults, couples, and teens. Dr. Ohanesian takes an active and individualized approach to treatment, integrating interventions from a variety of theories and orientations that are best suited to each client’s strengths, needs and identities. She incorporates principles across the spectrum of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral theories, also utilizing mindfulness-based and relational techniques. In her work with couples, Dr. Ohanesian takes an integrative approach, utilizing the Gottman Method Couples Therapy as well as Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples, and has completed the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy Level 1.

Dr. Ohanesian’s specific areas of interest include: anxiety, depression, identity development/exploration, interpersonal relationships and challenges, family of origin issues, sociocultural and systemic concerns, trauma, stress and anger management, self-esteem, life transitions, and substance use issues. .
