Dr. Villa earned a Doctorate and Masters degree in School Psychology from the University of Colorado, Denver, an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program. She graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State, Blacksburg, Virginia.

Dr. Villa completed her pre-doctoral internship at Denver Public Schools (DPS) where she provided a wide range of school-based mental health evaluations and counseling services to a diverse population of children, adolescents and their families. Additionally, she completed clinical training at hospitals and public schools.

Dr. Villa is approachable, open and warm. To best meet the needs of each of her clients, Dr. Villa uses an assimilative-integrative approach which includes cognitive-behavioral, developmental, and relational evidence-based treatments.

Because the way we think impacts our feelings and behaviors, Dr. Villa teaches clients how to  identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns. She further helps clients explore their emotions and relationships to increase their understanding of themselves and how they relate to others.

Dr. Villa greatly values culture and diversity. She views therapy as collaborative and she helps clients live a more meaningful, fulfilling and authentic life.

Dr. Villa has completed the Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) training and is a current member of the American Psychological Association (APA), APA Division 53 (Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology), Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists (VACP), National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
