You may benefit from mental health support if you experience persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, stress, or hopelessness that interfere with your daily life. Changes in sleep, appetite, energy levels, or relationships are also common signs. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Psychological assessments are comprehensive evaluations that use tests, interviews, and observations to understand an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. They can help diagnose mental health conditions, identify strengths and challenges, and guide treatment plans. Assessments benefit individuals of all ages, including those experiencing emotional difficulties, learning challenges, or those seeking diagnostic clarity and insights into how they can function optimally. If you have struggled socially, academically or professionally, an assessment may be something to consider. MPS currently provides assessment for individuals ages 14+.

The first session is an information session where your clinician will ask you a bunch of questions to understand your background, challenges, and goals for treatment. Psychotherapy provides people with a safe and confidential space to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. You can expect to gain insights into patterns affecting your mental well-being and learn healthier coping strategies. Progress varies for each person, but with consistency and openness, therapy can lead to important and meaningful change.
MPS is in network with the Georgetown Student Health Plan only. Otherwise we are considered a fee for service practice and we are Out of Network (OON) with insurance. If you have OON benefits, it is possible that you can be reimbursed for a portion of our costs (oftentimes 50-80%). We will happily provide you with a superbill that can be submitted for potential reimbursement. Additionally there are services that can assist you with the reimbursement process, please visit Mentaya and Reimbursify to learn more.
