Her doctoral research focused on the development of emotional awareness and self-regulation in young children, an area that continues to shape her clinical work today. She has more than eight years of experience providing psychological services in school and outpatient settings and is committed to delivering evidence-based care tailored to each client’s unique needs.

As a school psychologist, Dr. Mulder provided individual and group counseling, psychological evaluations, and behavioral and academic consultation for children and adolescents receiving special education services. She has extensive experience supporting youth with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, anxiety, depression, and significant behavioral challenges. In outpatient practice, she developed additional expertise working with LGBTQ+ youth and young adults, as well as children navigating parental separation and divorce. She has also served as an expert witness and supervised graduate students and pre-licensed clinicians.

Dr. Mulder believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change. She strives to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel understood while working toward clear, individualized goals. Her integrative approach draws from evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), play therapy, and behavioral interventions. She helps clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, empowering them to develop healthier coping strategies and lasting skills for everyday life.

When working with children and adolescents, Dr. Mulder partners closely with parents to support growth beyond the therapy room. She values open communication with families while respecting each child’s developmental needs and fostering trust within the therapeutic relationship.

Dr. Mulder works with children, adolescents, and young adults ages 4–25. Her areas of specialty include autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, coping skills, social skills, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), behavioral concerns, adjustment to divorce and family transitions, and LGBTQ+ affirming care.
