Dr. Dana Lipsky
Dana Lipsky, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Owner & Clinical Director of MPS PLLC

Dr. Lipsky has over 12 years of clinical experience and has completed extensive training. She has worked within a variety of settings including: community mental health centers, established group psychotherapy private practices, psychiatric hospitals, secondary schools, university counseling centers, and military care facilities. Additionally, she is a former employee of the Department of the Army and understands the unique experiences and challenges of active and former military members and their families.
Her treatment specialties include: anxiety (including fears, worries, panic, and social anxiety), depression (including pre & postnatal), relationships (with romantic partners, family members and friendships), LGBTQ populations, life transitions, and couples/marital therapy.
Dr. Lipsky plays an active role in therapy and incorporates techniques from Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Strength-Based, Solution-Focused, Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) and Mindfulness therapy modalities. In her work with couples, Dr. Lipsky utilizes the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy in conjunction with elements of Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples. She has completed the Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level I & Level II training(s) and the Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy clinical externship.
In order to keep informed of the latest research and most effective treatments, Dr. Lipsky strongly values continuing education. Most recently, she has attended conferences on anxiety, sex therapy, couples counseling, and grief and loss. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Virginia Psychological Association (VPA), the Maryland Psychological Association (MPA), and the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP). Dr. Lipsky was selected as the Top Psychologist in Arlington, Virginia by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals (IAHCP) in 2015.
