Dr. Chow earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP), Washington, D.C. campus, an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program. She also obtained a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from TCSPP, Washington, D.C. campus and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).

Dr. Chow has over 14 years of clinical experience and has worked in a variety of mental health settings including: a therapeutic day school, public charter schools, multidisciplinary private practices, and outpatient clinics including The Child and Family Therapy Clinic at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Dr. Chow completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at a community mental health center in New York City. In this urban setting, she had the pleasure of providing bilingual psychotherapy in Cantonese and English to first- and second-generation immigrants. Additionally, Dr. Chow provided crisis interventions to children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. Dr. Chow completed her post-doctoral fellowship in an outpatient psychotherapy clinic where she conducted comprehensive psychological evaluations and provided individual, couples, and family psychotherapy.

Dr. Chow specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and couples. In her work with youth, she emphasizes a collaborative approach with parents, offering both conceptual understanding of the child’s challenges and practical, evidence-informed strategies to support progress. Her clinical interests include anxiety disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, family of origin concerns, relational difficulties, trauma, and adjustment-related stress.

To best meet the unique needs of her individual clients, Dr. Chow utilizes a client-centered and systemic approach to treatment while highlighting cognitive-behavioral, emotional, and relational aspects. With couples she integrates techniques from the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy.

She has an open and warm therapeutic style which puts clients at ease. Dr. Chow greatly values diversity and culture and empowers her clients to develop a more accepting and compassionate self.

Dr. Chow is an active member of the Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA), APA Division 53 (Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology), the Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists (VACP), and Northern Virginia Clinical Psychologists (NVCP). She has completed advanced clinical training in multiple modalities, including The Gottman Method of Couples Therapy (Levels I, II, and III), Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level I, and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).

Dr. Chow currently serves on the Board of Directors for Parenting Culture. She previously served on the Board for NVCP and held an adjunct faculty position at TCSPP, Washington, DC campus.
